Private by default. When you take an assessment on your own, your answers and report are visible only to you. If you take an eligible assessment through a participating church, we clearly show what will be shared and ask you to agree before you begin. Sensitive assessments are never shown on a church dashboard.
What we collect
- Your answers. The responses you give while taking an assessment.
- Your report. The results we generate from your answers.
- Contact details. The name and email you enter so we can send your report and, if you ask, help you find it again.
- Basic technical data. Standard information your browser sends, plus limited analytics about how pages are used. We do not put your answers or report content into analytics.
Why we collect it
- To score your assessment and build your personal report.
- To deliver that report to you and let you return to it later.
- To operate a church partnership when you choose to take an assessment through your church.
- To keep the service secure and working well.
Who can access your results
By default, only you. We do not sell your data, and we do not share your individual results with anyone unless one of the following applies.
Church-linked assessments
Some churches partner with Mission USA and invite their members to take selected assessments. If you take an assessment through a participating church, we show you before you start exactly what will be shared and with whom, and we ask you to agree. A church dashboard may receive a report summary. Your individual answers are not shared. Sensitive assessments, such as those touching emotional health, marriage, or forgiveness, are never available to church dashboards.
Team and church-wide assessments
Some tools are built for a board, staff, or leadership team. These report as a group. Group views require a minimum number of participants so no single person's answers can be identified, and they never show raw individual answers.
Youth data
Assessments intended for minors carry extra protection. Where a youth assessment is offered through a church, we require adult consent and youth assent, limit who can see named results, and keep youth data for a shorter period. We do not launch a youth assessment until its safeguarding and privacy review is complete.
How long we keep your data
We keep your report so you can return to it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Church-linked and youth data follow shorter retention rules set with each partnering church.
Getting a copy or deleting your data
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. Write to assessments@chchurch.com and we will respond. Deleting your data removes your report and answers from our records.
Email and analytics
We use email to send your report and, occasionally, to let a church contact you about an assessment you took through them. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. Analytics never receive your answers or the content of your report.
